The countdown to Dasara has officially started in Mysuru, with the city's renowned Dasara elephants now rehearsing for the impressive Jamboo Savaari procession. The procession will span a five-kilometre route through the city's main roads, commencing at the palace and concluding at Bannimantap grounds. During this time, the elephants are getting accustomed to the sounds of vehicles, loudspeakers, firecrackers, and cannons through acclimatization drills held twice a day—morning and evening. The public has been flocking to catch a glimpse of the elephants, especially on weekends, as they eagerly capture the procession led by the Howdah elephant, Abhimanyu. Authorities stress the importance of being cautious to avoid disturbing the elephants until the Dasara celebrations are over.
